Focus and Scope

GEOView publishes refereed papers prepared originally for assessment by undergraduate students of Geography, Environmental Studies and allied disciplines (e.g. Planning and Heritage Management) across Australian universities. The scope of papers accepted for publication in the journal covers undergraduate work, from first to third year, as well as the coursework components of Honours programmes. Only papers that achieved very high grades (e.g. ‘High Distinction’ level) are reviewed for publication.

Peer Review Process

Papers submitted to GEOView are refereed by one member of the Editorial Board and by one other scholar familiar with the field of the submission. Referees are asked to assess submissions against accepted criteria for excellence (i.e. 'High Distinction' level) in undergraduate coursework, and to indicate any other points that might be usefully incorporated into the submitted paper. Reviews typically take 6-8 weeks.

Publication Frequency

To ensure rapid publication, GEOView publishes essays as they finalised, and is indexed by year (for example, 1997, 1998, etc).

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
